Canadian Socialized Medicine Not Even Used by Canadian Leaders

I thought Canadian Health Care was right up there with the best in the world.  Their Socialized Medicine is supposed to be the way to go.  Many have said that Obama would like to emulate the Canadian System.  My question is:  If it is so great,  can anyone explain this?

Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams is set to undergo heart surgery this week in the United States.

CBC News confirmed Monday that Williams, 60, left the province earlier in the day and will have surgery later in the week.

The premier's office provided few details, beyond confirming that he would have heart surgery and saying that it was not necessarily a routine procedure.

Maybe the guy needs a specialist that is only found in the United States.  Maybe he just wants to get away for awhile.  Who Knows?

It's Cold!

I am up in Canada for a couple of days for work.  While scouting around this park area out in the middle of the mountains, I had to go to the bathroom.  Usually, I just go outside, but there were tons of people around.  The little bathroom/shelter was closed for the winter since they had to shut the water off or the pipes would freeze.  The porta-potty was the only option.  The pee in it was frozen!  Damn, it is cold here!  Got to -28 below last night.  I can't wait to get back to Austin!
